April 2019 Real Estate Market Update

The real estate market in Baltimore is off to a robust start now that spring and open house season have arrived. I’m excited to share with you my April 2019 real estate market update for the greater Baltimore area and update you on current market conditions and projections. March 2019 Market Statistics March 2019 was a great month for home sales. Over the course of the month, a total of 707 units were sold for a total volume of $196,647,454 and a median price of $245,000. The uptick of median price from February 2019 ($230,000) shows that buyers are hitting the market and ready to make competitive offers close to the list price of each home. In March 2019, there were 1,380 new units listed, and there will be even more on the way in April 2019. This month has been the best and busiest of 2019 so far, and beneficial mortgage rates are only going to cement that fact. Purchasing in April 2019 Mortgage rates remain low and beneficial to homebuyers, so now is the perfect time to take advantage of low rates before they start to increase the remainder of the year. Since the home buying season has been so busy so far, you should consider getting pre-approved for a mortgage to be able to act quickly.
